The State Educational Establishment “Bobruisk State Technical College” was opened in 1930 which trains mechanics of Woodworking industry.

From 1931 fill 1942 the technical school trained 419 specialists for Plywood and Woodworking industry.

During the Great Patriotic War the technical school didn’t train specialists.

It resumed its work in 1944.

In 1958 the vocational technical school was set up on the basis of the technical school. In 1959 the technical school was reorganized into “Bobruisk Part-time timber Technical school”. It has been transformed into “Bobruisk State Timber Technical College” since 2010. Today the college has more than 610 students at the full-time department and 345 at the correspondence department.

In 2010 the College celebrated its 80-th anniversary. During these years, about 10 000 of qualified specialists graduated from it.

Many of them continued their education at universities in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation and now many of them are occupying managerial positions in different enterprises.

Nowadays the college trains personnel in 4 departments.

• Technology of woodworking production (qualification-technician-technologist )
• Machinery and equipment of woodworking industry (qualification-technician-mechanic)
• Timber production (qualification- technician for Timber economy )
• Economics and organization of production (qualification-technician-economist)

Education is acquired free or on a fee-paying base. They don’t just get theoretical knowledge but also do practical work at furniture factories, woodworking enterprises and timber mills.

The college possesses the necessary technical base, has its own traditions.
